Little Snowdrops

Our Little Snowdrops’ (19 – 36 months old) development will be stimulated in exciting and fun ways. At this age, children are developing their gross and fine motor skills, beginning to use language, and learning through sensory experiences and play. Here are some engaging activities that our Little Snowdrops will be engaging in: 

Gross Motor Development:

• Dancing with scarves to music.

• Animal movement games (hop like a bunny, crawl like a bear).

• Simple obstacle courses using cushions and tunnels.

• Ball rolling and gentle throwing games.

• Follow-the-leader with basic movements.

Fine Motor Skills:

• Playdough exploration with safe tools.

• Large bead stringing (with supervision).

• Finger painting.

• Stacking blocks or cups.

• Simple puzzles with large pieces.

Language Development:

• Picture book reading with interactive elements.

• Simple songs with actions.

• Bible stories and songs.

• Name and point to body parts.

• Show and tell with familiar objects.

• Basic color and shape identification games.

Sensory Play:

• Water plays with cups and containers (supervised).

• Rice or pasta sensory bins.

• Textured walking path (different fabrics/materials).

• Musical instruments exploration.

•  Sand play with scoops and containers.

Social Skills:

• Simple turn-taking games.

• Pretend play with kitchen items.

•  Parallel play activities.

• Simple clean-up routines set to music.

• Group bubble-popping.

They will be introduced to the jolly phonics songs and actions so that they are able to identify and sound the 42 sounds of the Jolly phonics.
